I was doing some research and found out some disguisting things about public.  I knew many things were germ infested, but things like a pen could get you sick!  Read this!

There are 5 main things to be aware of and definately wash your hands after using.

  1. Playgrounds

Knowing little kids, they usually do messy things and don’t wash up most of the time.  Like pick their nose, touch dirty things, play with bugs, put their fingers in their mouth’s, etc.  They are usually hanging on to something while at the publib playground.  Bars, swings, slides, and anything else.  Now atleast 50 little kids a day do this, and then somebody is bound to get sick.  Make sure to wash your hands before and after going to the playground!
  2. Public Bathrooms

This is just a gimmie.  Public restrooms/bathrooms are totally gross!  Some people have no respect for the world around them and actually themselves, so they just go in and out without washing up or respecting what others need to use.  Also, even when you go to wash up, with your hands that have touched everything needed to use the bathroom, the faucet handles to turn the water on and off are touched.  Some places have censors, but many don’t.  Also the soap push button is very dirty.  Wash very well, don’t just soak’n'leave!
  3. Vending Machine Buttons

Pressing all of those buttons at the vending machine can really infect you with germs.  They are touched by fingers, and nobody usually washes their hands before or after using them.  They are so disguisting now that I think of it.  It’s like looking at a dirty keyboard.
  4. Shopping Cart Handles

While at the grocery store do you use a shopping cart most of the time?  Yes!  And the handles usually aren’t cleaned.  Most people don’t think a shopping cart can be so bad!  Bare hands are touching them for how long?  Thirty minutes?  More?  They can be very disguisting and shoulddefinately take care of yourself after using them.
  5. Grocery Store Fruits

How often do you see people pick up and apple and put it back because it’s not “good enough?”  I find it very disguisting.  Could they not get somebody to go wash it?  Or look at it with their eyes?  All of those vegetables we put in our mouths, could have somebody dirty hand germs on it.

We should be very careful with what’s around us, you never know what is germ infested and what’s not.  Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next week!

Pop has become a very popular 3-letter word in kids vocabulary.  It is a very sugary drink which comes in cans or plastic bottles.  What many people don’t know is how much sugar is inside of one can of pop.

See that 354 mL of liquid?  Well it’s not as much liquid as you think.  This single can of pop contains 48 grams of sugar, 48 grams!  It practically fills up 1/3 of the can.

Pop also has a few minor side effects.  As humans, we need calcium correct?  Well milk now has to compete with the wonderufl taste of pop, especially top brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Sprite, and others.  Calcium is very important for building strong bones, without it  our bones will be very thin and week.  Also could lead to future bone problems.  Also the acid in pop wears down the enamel on teeth, causing decay.  Pop causes a lot of childhood obesity, which could lead to social problems and athletic struggling.

Pop is the number 1 source of sugar in the diet, also you take in approximately 200 more calories each day by drinking one can a day!  Think of how much sugar is in a larger bottle!
