Pop has become a very popular 3-letter word in kids vocabulary. It is a very sugary drink which comes in cans or plastic bottles. What many people don’t know is how much sugar is inside of one can of pop.

See that 354 mL of liquid? Well it’s not as much liquid as you think. This single can of pop contains 48 grams of sugar, 48 grams! It practically fills up 1/3 of the can.
Pop also has a few minor side effects. As humans, we need calcium correct? Well milk now has to compete with the wonderufl taste of pop, especially top brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Sprite, and others. Calcium is very important for building strong bones, without it our bones will be very thin and week. Also could lead to future bone problems. Also the acid in pop wears down the enamel on teeth, causing decay. Pop causes a lot of childhood obesity, which could lead to social problems and athletic struggling.
Pop is the number 1 source of sugar in the diet, also you take in approximately 200 more calories each day by drinking one can a day! Think of how much sugar is in a larger bottle!
